CBC Canada Live July 11 concert 1: Barra MacNeils

When it comes to getting an audience out of their seats and onto the dance floor, there are few bands better than The Barra MacNeils. This family band from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia has been touring the world for over twenty years with their unique brand of Celtic music. So they were the perfect choice to headline the closing party at the 2011 Bluenose Race weekend in Halifax. Thousands of people participated in the event, running from five kilometers to a full marathon, and by Sunday night, they were exhilarated and exhausted. But the minute the Barra MacNeils hit the stage, they found new energy and danced the night away.
