Take a step back to a simpler time. For one night at least, ease back on that hectic pace and enjoy the traditions of Christmases past with the Barra MacNeils, live in concert at the Brockville Arts Centre Sunday, Dec. 11.
The final Ontario stop on their cross-country tour, appropriately entitled The Barra MacNeils – An East Coast Christmas, promises a memorable performance for all members of the family.
“It’s been 17 years,” said Stewart MacNeil when asked how long he and siblings Lucy, Boyd, Kyle and Sheumas have been sharing their talents with fans by touring at this special time of year. “I couldn’t believe it myself.”
These icons of Canadian music have made a name for themselves around the world with their incredible harmonies and remarkable musicianship. From poignant Gaelic ballads to rousing instrumentals, original works to traditional favorites that harken back to the family’s roots in the Hebrides, the Cape Breton-based group has cultivated a wide following since releasing their first album back in 1986.
