Barra MacNeils bring East Coast Christmas to Toronto
The Barra MacNeils, one of Canada’s favourite bands, will bring a taste of Christmas on the East Coast to the heart of Toronto just in time for the holidays. Families around the world love the passion and artistry they bring to the stage, featuring multiple lead vocalists, beautiful sibling harmonies and prowess on a wide variety of acoustic, stringed, percussion and wind instruments. Their live shows blend dancing, storytelling, Gaelic songs and an unforgettable journey through an ancient culture.

The Barra MacNeils touch down in Cranbrook, Tuesday, November 28, at the Key City Theatre. The Barra MacNeils are widely regarded as one of the greatest live concert acts in the Celtic world. An East Coast Christmas – 2017 National Tour
The Barra MacNeil’s national Christmas tour makes its way from coast to coast again this year, starting on Vancouver Island, BC November 20th followed by a long string of additional concert dates in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia; finishing up in Glace Bay, NS at the Savoy Theatre on Saturday, December 23.

Back with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony
For audiences coming to see the Barra MacNeils for the first time don’t expect to see them play the same instruments every song. These are musicians known for their mastery of a variety of instruments including accordion, tin whistle, flute, bouzouki, guitar, keyboards, piano, bodhran, banjo, percussion, fiddle, Celtic harp and mandolin. And to round it off, they sing and do a bit of step dancing.

Very Busy St. Patrick’s Day Weekend!
The Barra MacNeils are about to launch into a very busy St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Since cloning is not yet a viable option, everyone involved had to get creative to make major overlapping symphony concerts work.
Lucy MacNeil is lending her stellar vocal talents to Symphony Nova Scotia’s “Flying On Your Own: A Tribute to Rita MacNeil” at Halifax’s Rebecca Cohn Auditorium for two shows, March 18, at 7:30PM and March 19, at 2PM.
Lucy’s brothers, and the balance of the Barra MacNeils: Kyle, Stewart, Sheumas and Boyd (including bassist Jamie Gatti) are all spending an evening in concert with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Ashley MacIssac on March 17 at 8PM.
