No, they’re not half a year early. Orillians who are used to seeing the Barra MacNeils perform their Christmas concert at the Opera House are in for a spring surprise. The Nova Scotia band of siblings will be at the downtown venue May 31.

Sydney Mines group has new release

Canada’s Celtic ambassadors and Sydney Mines best-known musicians will be on the road this spring promoting their latest album. For nearly three decades, the Barra MacNeils has been thrilling audiences of all ages. In May, they will release, “On The Bright Side,” their latest album which will feature a selection of upbeat tunes that include some fiddle tunes, a heart-wrenching Gaelic ditty and the single, “Living The Dream.”

The Barra MacNeils are touring this spring 2018 in support of their latest release On The Bright Side; an exquisite collection of everything their fans love. It’s an upbeat album, with fiddle tunes that you know will erupt into a flurry of step-dancing on stage. Christmas show coming to Wolfville on Friday, Dec. 15

The Acadia Performing Arts Series presents The Barra MacNeils East Coast Christmas at Convocation Hall in Wolfville on Friday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. It features the five Sydney Mines musical siblings with a new show full of seasonal favourites, original tunes, songs, stories and dance. The group is working on an album due for release in the spring. On the Bright Side will feature recordings of original and traditional music.

Tickets are $40 for adults, $30 for students. They are available from the Acadia box office, by calling 902-542-5500 or 1-800-542-8425, or visiting the Acadia box office online.

New show added at The Savoy!

Halifax, NS,  November 23 2017:  Due to popular demand a second show has been added at the Savoy Theatre of The Barra MacNeils Celtic Christmas.  The new show is at 7:30 pm on Saturday December 23.  Tickets are on sale now at the Savoy box office.  Limited tickets are still available for the matinee.
